TOMORROWLAND

IN VALENCIA, SPAIN

Tomorrowland: The City of Arts and Sciences

In Valencia, Spain with Ohw? shoes

Like I mentioned in other travel posts, my husband and I love to explore the places we travel to as much as we possibly can, which usually means hours and hours of walking. Its a great way to burn off those extra calories that we like to indulge in when ‘trying out’ the local cuisine. My feet and I were beyond thrilled to be wandering around the city in style and more importantly comfortably with my ohw? shoes on. I honestly love the two pairs of shoes I took with me and couldn’t wait to put them on. I’m so glad I wore them here in the City of Arts and Sciences as it matched the futuristic, minimalist theme perfectly.

The City of Arts and Sciences is an entertainment complex that feels as if it is a million miles away from the rest of Valencia. To say we were blown away is an understatement. It was like stepping onto a sci-fi movie set… Well actually the futuristic city in the Disney movie Tomorrowland was filmed here! We originally planned to spend half a day here but ended up spending the whole day as we didn’t want to leave. The architecture is beyond amazing and with so many different buildings, staircases, and bridges to see it was overwhelming. A photographers dream!

The entertainment complex consists of many beautifully architectural buildings including;

  • L’Hemisferic aka the giant eye. Inside theres a planetarium, laserium and cinema! The shutter actually moves to reveal the ‘iris’ of the eye.
  • El Museu de les Ciències Príncipe Felipe aka the skeleton whale- houses a science museum that is interactive
  • L’Umbracle – a landscaped garden walk, the palm trees under a roof felt so strange but beautiful!
  • L’Oceanogràfic – The biggest aquarium in Europe, designed to resemble a water lily.
  • El Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia- Opera house and drama centre.
  • El Pont de l’Assut de l’Or- The most amazingly architecture bridge i’ve seen in my life! It’s the highest point in the city.
  • L’Àgora–  A covered plaza

It definitely deserves to be one of the 12 treasures of Spain and I would highly recommend visiting if you can. It looks even better in real life! I would also take advantage of the outdoor activities next time we visit like the water balls and kayaking. We did see lots of people on bicycles and it seems like a great way to get around.

If you are on the hunt for a decent pair of sneakers that are comfortable and cool do check out the ohw? shoes website here!
