I have a love/hate relationship with Camden town. I went to school here and was kind of sick of it after 7 years. It definitely has a vibe of its own and has changed so much in the last few years. There are plenty more upscale restaurants and shops. Even though it still doesn’t feel like the safest place in London it has cleaned up a fair bit. On any given day Camden Lock is ridciulosly busy with crowds of tourists so bear this in mind if planning a trip here. I dragged hubby here on a very hot day a couple of weeks ago, with a serious craving for ice-cream. But not just any ice cream, but possibly my favourite ice-cream in London. The Chocolate chocolate-chip from Marine Ices.

So I know that it doesn’t look very ‘insta-worthy’ but don’t let that stop you from trying Marine Ices, trust me you will not regret it! It really is authentic Italian gelato and the fact that its been here since 1931 means something! There are so many more adventurous flavours to choose from see here.
For lunch we shared a large portion of chips from Poppies and halloumi fries… Yes you read right, halloumi fries. One of many great street food finds in Camden. They were really yummy and i’m sure if you were a cheese lover you’d have gobbled these up in a second. Topped with pomegranate seeds, chilli flakes and yoghurt, do try!

I kept it casual and comfy (as per usual) with my denim pinafore dress from asos, white tee and sneakers.
Camden should definitely be on your list when visiting London. It’s a chance to see a more truer version of London life than just the white houses in Kensington. But if you do find the crowds a bit too much you can follow the canal to which will take you towards Regents Park or just a shorts walk away is lovely Primrose hill. You’ll find yummy mummy’s in the cutest cafes and the cutest colourful houses. Can’t wait to show you more of London, so stay tuned 🙂
